The New York Times is doing some shuffling of its editors, bringing in a new Op-Ed page editor:
Mr. Shipley, 39, succeeds Terry Tang, who is joining the paper's news department, where she will have "significant new responsibilities," according to the announcement. So Ms. Tang is moving from the Op/Ed page to the Times' news department? All together now: "What's the difference?"

Maybe those "significant new responsibilities" are to report news instead of opining. That would be "new" in the Times's news department.
